New Music: Suade – Cali Loungin

Suade is determined to bring the West Coast back. Check out what Suade told Hiptics.com about his latest single:

“Cali Loungin” is the single from my up-coming album “Twice the Work-Re’Amped”. It was produced by Bigg Robb, formerly of the Zapp Band. The talkbox that people hear on this song, was performed by Sure 2 B of the Zapp Band, and is actually the same exact talkbox that Roger Troutman used to create his early hits.

I’m on a mission to bring the West back, and what better way to do it, then to bring people back to Cali with that early West Coast sound that people fell in love with. I’m a huge fan of that West Coast G-Funk era, and I would love to hear those sounds on the radio again.

Hiptics.com Presents: The Ultimate Plies Playlist

The Hiptics crew is complex. On Monday you might hear Nas’ Illmatic blasting out of our speakers, but on Tuesday we’re making blog posts to the sounds of Plies’s 30 Days. Our Ultimate Plies Playlist is dedicated to the loyal Plies fans, but also intended for the hip hop heads who can’t stand the Fort Myers MC. Our Plies Playlist showcases the many sides of Plies; goon, conscious thug, ladies man, and so on and so forth.

Things kick of with “Take Off,” which is the oldest track featured on our Plies Playlist (and the only track included from Plies’ underground mixtape days). If you’re one of the hip hop fans that can’t understand what we see/hear in Plies, then pay close attention to songs like “Somebody (Loves You),” “Runnin My Momma Crazy,” “Worth Goin Fed Fo,” “Gotta Be,” and “Family Straight.” It doesn’t get much realer.

It wouldn’t be an ultimate Plies playlist without his radio smashes like “Shawty,” “Plenty Money,” “Hypnotized,” “Medicine,” “Becky,” “Bust It Baby Part 2,” and the soon-to-be hit, “She Got It Made.”

The playlist balances out the radio-friendly music with harder cuts like “Pants Hang Low,” “Goons Lurkin,” “Chirpin,” “Who Hotter Than Me,” “Letter,” “Heard Of Me,” and “Chef.” We don’t want you to go do what Plies is doing, but these songs are great for getting pumped up.

Don’t think Plies has a sense of humor? Check “Ol’ Lady.”

Had a good day? Turn on “Dat Bitch.”

The playlist goes on and on. Enjoy it and let us know what you think!

T-Pain – Reverse Cowgirl (Music Video)

We’ve played T-Pain’s “Reverse Girl” at Hiptics.com sponsored parties and watched the reaction. Sorry Jay, but it’s a hit. A hilarious, ridiculously-themed hit. Notice the use of a comma in between reverse and cowgirl when T-Pain sings the refrain. It makes the sexually driven song radio friendly. Instead of reverse cowgirl, he’s just asking you [...]
