A misused symbol?
Glenn Beck, a conservative news commentator for CNN, has written a well thought out article on the Politcal Leftists and pop culture misusing and misinterpreting Che Guevara. In the recent mission to rescue FARC hostages, only one operative was wearing a red-cross symbol. The rest of the rescuers we’re allegedly wearing Che Guevara memorabilia so the FARC would identify them as one of their own. This article is worth a read.

“Like Che Guevara with bling on…” – JayZ
Yeah, Che really sucked as a revolutionary leader and was responsable for many many brutal deaths, but I think this popularity of the image originally was more an homage to the original photograph, which is a very striking and intriguing portrait of the man. I just hope people who choose to wear the shirts and hats with his image realize how ironic/dumb it is.
For those of you who haven’t seen the original photo, check it out.
