A melting pot of artists came together in Chicago at a lively Lollapalooza that started Friday and ended on Sunday. Kanye shared the stages with the likes of Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails to name a few. Once a traveling summer concert, Lollapalooza is now contracted to stay in Chicago through 2011.

This is apparently Jeezy’s second single from The Recession. If you listen to the lyrics Jeezy is rapping about political issues, but the song still has that signature Jeezy feel [insert Young Jeezy ad lib here].

Teenpreneur Accuses Snoop Dogg of Oppressive Business Tactics

    August 6th, 2008

Interesting piece on a girl who believes using snoop in her products name is perfectly fine. The girl has some brains to start up a business as a high school student. Can her patent save her products name? Snoop doesn’t think so.

Which girl is he in a fight with?

Which girl is he in a fight with?

College freshman pushes back against Snoop Dogg’s efforts to thwart progress of the company and product she invented in high school, even if it means going to court. In an exclusive interview with Innovativeeconomy.com [Innovativeeconomy Blog yesterday, the young lady recently voted by Black Enterprise Magazine as Teenpreneur of the Year for 2008 announced her plans to fight oppressive tactics she believes Dogg is using to prevent her from obtaining a trademark on a patent-pending electronic device branded as NoeStringAttached by SnoopTunes™.

At the age of 14, young Kristyn Heath invented an electronic device that allows iPod and mp3 users to listen to each other's music without unlawfully transferring it. It allows kids to snoop each other's songs when they are within a few feet of each other. With the guidance of her parents, Heath filed a patent application, developed a prototype, manufactured units for sale, and built a fully operational business over the course of her high school career. The trademark application is being held up by Snoop Dogg who contends the name SnoopTunes™ violates his trademark Snoop Dogg.

Considering the current state of the CD game, this is pretty impressive. I wonder when CD buyers will begin to realize their buying a product that will be extinct in less than five years?

Tha Carter III passed the 2,000,000 sales mark by pushing 78,700 discs this week. The album’s tally stands at 2,075,900.

Q-Tip Says Tribe Will Never Record Again

    August 6th, 2008
    The good ol' days

    The good ol' days

I think this is a pretty smart move. Better that fans remember Tribe’s past rather than a half-hearted comeback.

Rap group A Tribe Called Quest will never reunite to record another album, according to member Q-Tip.

The collective returned to the stage in New York on Sunday night – their third reunion in four years.

But Q-Tip warns fans not to expect any new material, now or in the future – because they will never improve on what they have already created.

He says, “It will never, ever happen.

“We don’t want to be one of those groups that comes back 15 years later and puts out an album that’s not that good. It’s why the Beatles never got back together.”
