The first banner. HipHop+Politics still = HIPTICS
1. John-Henry was first to post about Daddy Yankee endorsing Senator McCain for President. Well this pissed Fat Joe off enough to publicly respond. In fact, Fat Joe challenged Daddy Yankee to a political debate and called Yankee all sorts of names. There was an interesting comment about this issue from a Hiptics reader, and one of my homies, DJ Joe Razo:
I’m living in Puerto Rico right now and can speak on the Daddy Yankees huge popularity here. But his popularity really doesn’t extend too much farther… With that said the bottom line is that Puerto Ricans can’t vote on a presidential candidate, so his endorsement really doesn’t mean much.
2. Young Jeezy is not only getting political with his latest album The Recession, but also doing what he can to register voters. Read about it here. Check out the video and watch Jeezy arrive in a baby blue Lambo. [insert jeezy adlib here] In case you were wondering,The Recession debuted #1, selling over 350,000 copies in the first week.
Hope everybody has a good weekend! – Cfro

Sarah Palin's Hometown
Sarah Palin has been in Politics for 12 years. She spent the first 4 or 5 years on Wasilla, Alaska’s city council, and then from 1996-2002 she was mayor of Wasilla (Population 10,000, also the size of my college). She fired many people, talked about banning books, and ran the 25 person police department. In her second term as mayor she hired a lobbyist and managed to get 27 million dollars in earmarks for her town of 10,000 (No surprise, the person in charge of getting the earmarks was ex-chief of staff of Senator Ted Stevens, currently indicted on 7 charges relating to corruption).
From 2002 to 2005 she was on a state energy task force commission where she was the ethics officer. She eventually resigned in protest at the ‘lack of ethics from republicans on the panel’ and got two of the republicans to eventually resign, and one fined. She ran and was elected governor of Alaska in 2006.

She sure is hot though
As Governor, the only real note-worthy accomplishment was getting a new gas line in from the North Slope (The same pipeline that any ANWR plans will eventually use). She also expanded her spending to more than any in Alaskan History, but Alaska also had huge profits from its natural resources. She even raised the taxes (A profits tax as it were) on oil companies and redistributed it to Alaskans, which she does not support nationally.
She supported the Bridge to no where before she realized it was going no where (Because of McCain) and came out against it (Instead redistributing it to another, useless, bridge) Her daughter being pregnant at 17 is nothing but hilarious, because she supports abstinence only education. She said last year that ’she hadn’t thought much about the Iraq War’ but said today that soldiers in Iraq are defending us from the killers on 9/11.
What hasn’t received a lot of media play is the fact that Sarah Palin is a Pentecostal. At a normal pentacostal sermon, you will have people in the audience burst out ’speaking in tongues’ (Meaning gibberish more or less) because the power of God has compelled them. Pentacostal’s also take part in the ‘laying of hands’ for healing and other such fundamentalist Christian beliefs. Below is Sarah Palin giving a speech to her hometown church after she became governor. Talk about attributing everything you are doing to God!:
