Lil Wayne Grabs 12 Nominations from BET Awards

Once again Lil Wayne gets more accolades than any other rapper alive as BET is dripping sweat over Lil Wayne. Incredible accomplishment to get considered over the extensive range of awards that Lil Wayne did. Next year expect these awards to be primarily given to Eminem and Dr. Dre, as both have albums expected to be released within the year.
Lil Wayne leads this years nominees at the BET Awards, grabbing 12 nods including ‘Lyricist of the Year’ and ‘Best Video ‘(”Lollipop”). Kanye West is nominated for 7 awards including ‘Best Live Performer’ and ‘CD Of The Year’ while Jay-Z racked up 6 nods including the top lyricist. Katt Williams will host this years BET Awards on Thursday, October 23 at 8 p.m. EST in Atlanta.
In other Weezy headlines, Lil Wayne recently re-signed to his label Cash Money Records. Bryan “Baby” Williams says “Working with our son, Lil’ Wayne, throughout the many years has helped us build Cash Money into the empire it is today,” Williams said, continuing “Cash Money is a family and Lil’ Wayne has been part of our family since day one.”
Lil Wayne was scheduled to be back in court today in New York but due to witness scheduling issues, the hearing was postponed. As we previously reported [read here], his lawyer recently broke down the NYPD saying the arresting officer was blocks away when she says she smelled marijuana coming from Wayne’s bus.
