Is Kanye West the “Voice of this Generation?” Kanye Thinks So
What’s up HipSet? It’s a sunny day in Amsterdam but I have a feeling the rain will come later. The weather is really unpredictable here. Speaking of unpredicatble: Kanye West was recently quoted as saying the following:
“I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice.”

This is without a doubt one of Mr. West’s most overly confident statements, but he has the credentials to back it up. College Dropout, Kanye’s debut, is arguably on the same level as new millennium classics such as Jay-Z’s Blueprint and Nasty Nas’ Stillmatic. Kanye’s next two albums, Late Registration and Graduation, were huge commercial successes that expanded his global fan base to superstar proportions. His voice has become familiar that when too much time goes by without a single people ask, “where’s Kanye?. He has produced/co-produced nearly everything he has released not to mention numerous songs on albums like Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter 3 and the aforementioned Blueprint by Jigga. With 808s and Heartbreaks [READ REVIEW] Kanye is experimenting with a more electronic sound [WATCH Kanye Talk 808s New Sound on Conan] and still entertaining fans with his impressive self-marketing skills.
