1. Tha Carter 1 was written by Gillie Da Kid. Lil Wayne just performed on the album. It’s a big pill to swallow, but no one from Cash Money ever came out and explicitly denied the allegations. What would you do if someone falsely claimed they wrote all your songs?

2. When Lil Wayne freestyles his own rhymes he sounds a little bit better than decent. I read a Vibe Magazine article where the writer detailed Wayne recording a guest verse on Birdman’s single “100 Million Dollars.” Makes sense that he would spit his own rhymes when the media is watching!

3. Lil Wayne is a proud member of the Bloods. However, this claim has been challenged by real gang members. Also, Wayne used to wear blue in his older Cash Money videos. It’s silly to debate whether or not he belongs to an organization that has ruined countless lives; but we wouldn’t have to if Lil Wayne stopped promoting the lifestyle. Now, to be fair, Wayne and others contributed to an anti-gang banging compilation CD in 2007, but a Google search of the sponsor organization resulted in pretty much nothing.
4. Drake. Drake. Drake. My friend put me up on him the other night and what I heard inspired me to make this post. At the 2008 VMA’s, Lil Wayne performed a Drake verse WORD-for-WORD. Drake recorded the verse for a Birdman song entitled “Money To Blow.” The similarities between him and Drake (an artist on the Lil Wayne payroll) are striking! Not to mention Drake raps better than Wayne. (ps. I hope you all are clicking these links cause everything I’m claiming is backed up!) I think Drake is that dude who took over when Gillie Da Kid departed from Cash Money. Wonder if Curren$y penned some of his rhymes, too?

Whoever tries to claim Wayne is amazing is quite stupid. In all honesty, he makes millions by being a fake. Get it however you can get it, right? You can tell when he free styles compared to his albums and his mixtapes. His freestyles blow mass ass. He has some of the worst rhymes imaginable in his freestyles. Only reason you think they’re tight is due to everything else others have done for him to make him appear “Godly” Drake, is an amazing artist as well. If you compare when he was a nothing to now, he is the same. Style is phenomenal, lyrics are phenomenal. It’s a disgrace to me, as an underground artist (even though I suck at it, it just entertains me to make music) to put Lil Wayne even close to the top 10 rap artists in history. I can name 4-5 underground artists that you could even just find on soundclick.com that have sicker, slicker rhymes and game than Lil Wayne. Alot of the artists on there don’t have more than a room in their house dedicated to recording that make better music than alot of mainstream artists. It’s basically the same principle as Pro sports in comparison to College. College is always alot more interesting to watch, because all of them are pushing themselves past their limits just to make it Pro… while the pro steadily stay the same and get worse. Lil Wayne = Shit.
