We call it swamp hop. We make it in our studio out in the Everglades so that just seemed right.
Swamp hop has got a lot of southern rock and blues mixed into it. We appreciate a lot of different types of music.
It is hip hop, no doubt. But there is nothing out there to compare it to. We take samples of (Lynyrd) Skynyrd, Jim Croce, stuff people wouldn’t normally sample.
I’m so down with it, that I got Swamp-hop tatooed on my leg.
