Attitude is “King of the Hill” – New Mixtape Download & Review

Attitude is a rapper from Alabama that used to be on Timbaland’s Beat Club label before it folded. You’re probably familiar with Attitude’s music even if you’ve never heard oh him. Remember Nelly Furtado’s massive hit record “Promiscious?” Attitude wrote it. How about the Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, and Timbaland’s single, “Give It To Me?” Attitude wrote that, too.

With his sites set on a solo career, Attitude recently dropped a mixtape called King of The Hill. I just got done listening to it. Below are my notes.
The Good: Attitude’s voice is fierce and clear at the same time. His delivery is incredibly well polished. As an artist, he comes accross as someone who’s been through a lot and ready to grind all the way to the top which his voice exemplifies. I think based on his past success as a songwriter, it would be safe to bet that Attitude makes his precense felt as a solo artist in major ways.
The Bad: The content of “King of the Hill” is repetetive. A lot of songs detail the same type of lifestyle: Money, cash, hoes. I will say that despite sometimes generic content, Attitude does it just as well — if not better — than platinum rappers with the same formula.
The Ugly: No disrespect to DJ Stikuhbush, but that has to be the funniest/worst names I’ve ever heard.
Songs to Check:
“Blow Ya Back Out” – hit record
“Don’t Go There” ft. B.O.B. – cool song
“Headed Nowhere” – really like this song
“All Day Long” – great chorus, braggadocious/hard-hitting lyrics
“I Be Like” ft. Yo Gotti – dig it
“In The Wind” – my favorite song from the mixtape
“Freestyle” – hard hitting (“Fore the deal I was out hustling that white shit/Made a mil’ writing for Timbaland and that white bitch”)
