Didn’t beat Tha Carter III…the music industry is so weird these days. Good to see that Blackout 2 did well, though. I loved their mixtape (Lights Out)!
the only reason he didnt beat lil wayne was cause relapse leaked 2 weeks be4 it came out. lil wayne pushed back the date of the carter 3 and recorded new songs

Don’t you dare compare lil wayne to Em, wayne is garbage and 100% fake. Em is legit and would have crushed waynes sales if his album didn’t leak over 2 weeks before hand. 2 weeks is insanely early and hundreds of thousands of people had the album a week before it was out
yall r right wayne is trash ands Em to me is one of the best if not the best. If his Album didn’t leak he would of def sold way more than lil waynes Tha Carter 3. Especially because he was gone for those 4 years and all of the anticipation of the cd.

Weezy did Platinum his first week, no matter how much people hate on wayne they cant argue with the numbers. Not saying Eminem is bad at all its just that the people choose what they want to hear.

lil waynes albm leaked out way earlier than eminems did….i memba the cartr 3 almost leaked about 3 weeks before it came out….lil jus marketed it right….and he also made ppl wait for so long and always said it would be released on this date then this date….and lil wayne was jus everywhere on the mixtape circuit…he prolly sold more mixtapes than he did albums…eminem doesnt have to do that
Hey idont forget eminem didn’t go on tour….didn’t do on any radio stations….wasn’t on any songs with anyone….eminem went on a few interviews….most of them outside the country….and eminems album came out just 1 month after his first single leaked.

I’m a bit disappointed that Relapse didn’t beat out tha Carter III, but I think it’ll beat it in the long run. I think that this is a representation of the two artists really. Wayne is all hype w/ no substance and most of his sales came in the first week. Em has more substance and his sales will be more steady in the weeks to come. Gotta think long term.
Also, at least he blew the fakest boss that you’ve seen thus far out the water.
i am sick of hearing people compare Eminem to Lil Wayne, for one Em has the most truthful and deep lyrics you can hear, also some of the most creative, Lil Wayne just makes up b.s. words and phrases and non stop re-uses the same lyrics in song after song, Homes is sippin on way toooo much syrup. Also the voice thing and the rock stuff is killing him by the day. There is just way to much to go on about and so little space to fit it all..

Eminem did a ton of promotion for Relapse, are you kidding me? It’s unfortunate for him that the album leaked, that probably cost him some numbers, but considering his “beef” with Nick Cannon, the fake website he put up to promote the album, the four songs he released on iTunes, the music videos, AND the announcement of his upcoming performance at the MTV Movie Awards he did a shit load of promotion…he used different tactics than Wayne, but I would say both promoted their album a shit ton. I’m not saying anything about either one’s skills, I’m just blaming it on the shitty music industry and the bad economy. Sales for Relapse 2 will probably be lower, because even if the economy improves, the music industry won’t.
one more thing, it sucks Relapse didn’t sell more. just cuz cd’s leak doesn’t mean you still cant go buy the album. I love to burn cd’s but I figure if you like the artist enough, you should be buying the cd’s they put out. For one to support the artist, and also show that the artist he isn’t just wasting his time to make music for a few cents. Its almost going to become worthless to rap anymore if the money and support isn’t there.
Em did his thing on this album doe!!!! I dont think you can compare Lil Wayne to Em because Em tells stories that people relate to and Wayne just makes punchline after punchline, never telling a story at all! I hate to see that Ross and Em is beefing cause i think they could have made a very good track together to promote both of the albums.

Lil Wayne will NOT go down in history as the only person/rapper to sell a mill in one week. I agree with the comment about the leaks of Relapse….Eminem will, has and will do better than any rapper in his first week projections. Just wait for Relapse II….
all yall on eminem dick. i love em and he is great!! i bought his cd. but lil wayne is great too and he proves it over and over again. the carter 3 was leaked by a dj almost 2 weeks before it released too. i know cause i downloaded and still went and bought the real album . and he still did over a mill so quit hating. give the man his props!!

I don’t think 50’s ever sold over a million records in his first week…maybe worldwide. I think the most records he sold in his first week was when he was up against Graduation a couple years ago, and neither of them made it to a million.
