In case you missed it, Jay-Z leaked an exclusive track from Blueprint III on Hot 97 the other night. The song is called “D.O.A.” [Click to Listen] which stands for Death of Autotune. I did some investigative reporting on Twitter (ha!) to see what other players in the hip hop world thought about the new Hov track.
Slim Thug, the boss of all bosses, was feeling it.
Jayz “D.O.A.” go hard. I’m glad I don’t do none of the shit he talking bout. I’m happy to hear Hov again.
Mistah F.A.B., who has a hit record called “Hit Me On Twitter” that relies on some autotunage, was not feeling “D.O.A.”
THIS JAY-Z SONG IS SO WEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [...] ANYBODY ELSE DID THAT YALL WOULD HAVE HAD N THE STEP YA BARS UP SECTION [...] HOV COULD FART ON A SONG AN THESE NIGGAS A SAY MAN IVE NEVER HERD A FART SO WELL PUT TOGETHER.
Don’t confuse Mistah F.A.B. for a Jay-Z hater, though.
WAS A JAY FAN BEFORE NIGGAS ON THE WEST EVEN HERD OF HIM.. HAD REASONABLE DOUBT WHEN PAC WAS SAYIN FUCK JAY-Z .. IM NOT A JAY HATER
Grammy award winner Chamillionaire tweeted his thoughts on the record as well.
I don’t think I have ever heard djs get more excited about a record. [...] The last verse is really sick. [...] I like it. Ima hov fan. Rebellious. Against the grain. Lyrics. I do believe they were hypin it up too much though.
