Hiptics.com: When did the idea come about to make a song about Twitter?

Mistah F.A.B: I’ve been knowing about the whole Twitter thing for a couple years. The whole thing about Twitter is some of the homeys have been on it for a minute, cause all of these things are invented here in the Bay Area, where I’m at, in the heart of Silicon valley. We get a chance to not necessarily cheat, but we get it first. So some of the homeys have been already on it for a minute like, ‘Yo you need to get on Twitter.’ For a long time I was like ‘there’s nothing better than MySpace, I don’t care what any of y’all say.’ When I finally got on it, I was like, ‘Yo this is addictive.’ If it’s addictive to me, it’s addictive to other people. It’s one of those things, I would say trendy cause that’s the formal word for it, but it’s a fun thing, man. It’s for kids and adults, and anytime you have a situation like that, people are going to love it. You just think of a song for it and have fun about it because not only you, but a lot other people can relate evidently [or] people wouldn’t be on it.

Founder and Executive Editor of Hiptics. I launched Hiptics in 2008. I spent the last 4 years at Denison University where I hosted a weekly hip-hop radio show on 91.1 WDUB (one of America's Top 20 Most Popular College Radio Stations). I also served as Public Relations Chairman, Program Director, and Webmaster of the station. I genuinely love hip-hop, and have been involved in nearly every aspect of the culture starting with selling my own music in Middle School (haha, true story). I won the Culture Jam Freestyle Battle at Denison both times I participated. I brought Wiz Khalifa, EbGb, and D.Julien to campus for a free Hiptics show in January 2010. I've interviewed everyone from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to the CEO of Death Row Records. I've DJ'd for Wiz Khalifa and Sam Adams, as well as at countless parties and campus events. There's a lot more to be said, but I don't want to be THAT guy. My point is this: I'm not just another one of these hip-hop bloggers. If the Internet didn't exist, I'd still be in the game.
