Joe Budden Explains Jay-Z Beef – Was It All Over “Pump It Up”
According to Joe Budden, his dislike for Jay-Z stems from the way Jay handles business. When Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” became a summer hit in 2003, it seemed only right that Budden and Co. commissioned another rapper to become part of the “Pump It Up” remix.
Joe Budden’s first choice: Jay-Z
Budden says that he “chopped it up” with Jay-Z, but that Hov asked for an astronomical amount of money before he lay a fresh verse over Just Blaze’s instrumental. Budden took the diss in stride, but was furious when he heard Jay-Z jack his instrumental for an unofficial remix some two weeks later.
Is Joe Budden being petty, or does he have a legit reason for his “beef” with Jay-Z.
