During my interview with Freddie Gibbs, the conversation turned to Ray Cash. Like a lot of hip hop fans, Freddie Gibbs wonders what happened to the Cleveland-based MC. I literally have not been made aware of a single new Ray Cash song since 2006. Cash released a great debut album (Listen to Cash On Delivery) via Sony in 06, but then, silence. Gibbs, who collaborated with Cash back during his days on Interscope, would love to re-unite with the Cleveland based MC to make some classic Midwest music. Ray Cash, like Freddie Gibbs, I hope you see this interview!
If you know where he is, give him a shout for me. [Laughs] I worked with him when I was at Interscope. We did that “Keep It Pimpin” remix…I love Ray Cash as an artist. I honestly don’t know what he’s doing. I wish I did. If he so happens to read this interview, man, I hope he reaches out to me. He’s definitely dope…Anything Ray Cash doing, I’m supporting.
