Drake and Nicki Minaj cover XXL after last month’s popular Freshman edition. Rap royalty? Do you think that’s why Drake looks a little bit like President Obama on the cover? I’m not used to him making serious faces.
In related news, Nicki Minaj’s first single (“Massive Attack”) is here.

DOWNLOAD: Consequence – Movies On Demand (Mixtape)
Consequence dropped a new mixtape in promotion of his upcoming Cons TV album produced by his cousin Q-tip and Kanye West. Movies On Demand features Kanye, Asher Roth, Maino, Rick Ross, Common, Talib Kweli, Styles P, and more. As you can see, Mr. Popularity has a lot of successful people behind him. He’s signed to G.O.O.D. Music and he did “quit his day job” but it seems the future’s only looking up for Cons.
Since Consequence is the cousin of Q-Tip (from the seminal hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest), one might think his entry into the music game would be easy, acceptance by association. Having excelled at English and poetry in high school, Consequence found that his natural progression was to rhyme. Fiercely independent and confident, Consequence’s name says it all. Hustling and honing his skills on his own, he crafted tales that were familiar to him. “I thought, ‘What’s another name for results?,’” he asked himself. “‘Consequence.’” By the age of 16, Consequence was building a reputation on the street for his surefire spitfire rhymes. When Q-Tip began hearing about his cousin’s rapidly developing skills, he had no choice but to pay attention.

All ‘old’ music that gets play in the Hiptics.com Headquarters will be labeled as Replay. As much as we love to post the best new hip hop music and mixtapes, we don’t want to forget the hip hop music that got us to this point. 50 Cent’s No Mercy No Fear was the second 50 Cent/G-Unit mixtape, and the first release after 50 signed his famous $1 million contract with Shady/Aftermath. Even if you’re not a G-Unit fan, you’ve got to pay homage to 50, Yayo, and Banks for coming so far. In 2010, their 2002 release still sounds dope.
