Hiptics.com isn’t a stranger to Callatonic Productions. Back in August, Adrian from Callatonic hit us up with some original videos to check out. We ended up posting them and continued to showcase his work whenever it hit our inbox. Coincidentally, one of Adrian’s videos consisted of Michael Jordan highlights enhanced by Wiz Khalifa’s “Boarding Pass.” I ended up speaking with Adrian a few weeks before the Wiz Khalifa x EbGb x D.Julien show at Denison University and invited him to come out and do his thing. Thankfully Adrian obliged. The footage he obtained is nothing less than dope.

What’s up, Hipset? My apologies for the lack of updates today, but I’ve been getting everything in order for tomorrow’s show at Denison University. In case you didn’t hear, Hiptics.com is presenting a hip hop show headlined by Wiz Khalifa, and featuring EbGb and D.Julien. It’s going to be a night to remember, and I’m thankful for the opportunity. I swooped up EbGb from the Columbus airport today and have been kicking it with the King of Swamp Hop ever since. If you’re a Denison student, make sure you catch the festivities tomorrow night. D.Julien, who is coming all the way from Brooklyn, will kick things off at 8:00 PM and EbGb will take the stage around 9:00 PM. Wiz Khalifa will close things up with what is sure to be a memorable performance. Thankfully I’ve arranged an army of film-makers and photographers to capture every moment so that we can share it with our loyal readers. Stay tuned! -Cfro

Over the past few months I’ve been working to bring a great hip hop concert to my school, Denison University. Today, I am proud to announce that Wiz Khalifa and EbGb will be performing live on campus Friday, January 22nd. The show is presented by your favorite blog (Hiptics.com), but would not be possible without funding from organizations like the IFC and WDUB. A big shout out to Eric Gurevich for seeing my vision and helping bring it to life!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Denison ID’s are required to attend the show.
As for the show, EbGb will kick things off. If you’re a loyal reader than you already know EbGb very well. EbGb is a 23 year-old MC from South Florida that has opened up for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Obie Trice, D-12, Trick Trick, and more. His newly released album, Circling The Drain, is doing numbers on iTunes, and is now available everywhere online. EbGb was also nice enough to contribute 3 exclusive tracks to Hiptics.com’s From The Underground Up mixtape. I know for a fact that there’s a lot of ladies at Denison that are dying to put a face with his song “Crazy Nasty Bounce.” Check a couple of his music videos: EbGb – “Look Eazy” | EbGb – “Hurricane”
Wiz Khalifa will be headlining the show. Khalifa is a 22 year old MC hailing from Pittsburgh, PA. Although he once had a major label deal, Khalifa “left that situation alone” to go independent. His bold move proved to be a wise one, as his November release, Deal or no Deal, debuted #1 on the iTunes hip hop charts ahead of that week’s major releases. In 2009, Wiz also dropped two critically acclaimed solo mixtapes (Flight School & Burn After Rolling) and a cult classic with Curren$y entitled How Fly. Clearly dude has an arsenal of songs to perform at Denison, and I expect the night’s venue (The Roost) to be filled to capacity. Better get there early. Okaaay!
