“Fo Yo Sorrow” appears on Big Boi’s forthcoming Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Good to see George Clinton (age 68) is still keepin’ it funky in hip hop videos.
A new visual courtesy of Hot Spitta and Creative Control. The “Prioritize (Beeper Bill)” music video was directed by Jonah Schwartz. For more Curren$y, check out his most recent mixtape.
Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 is dominating the digital album charts, but the original Blueprint is my personal favorite. The music video for Jay-Z’s “Song Cry” is above for you to enjoy. What a great opening line:
“Good dude, I know you love me like cooked food.”
- Jay-Z
Lil Wayne and Eminem filmed a music video for “Drop The World.” I’m not a big fan of music video previews and/or trailers. In my humble opinion, making trailers for a three-to-four minute visual is pointless. Just release the music video! Regardless of how I feel, Wayne and Em’s “Drop The World” music video is serious business. Really. This is major! The preview of Lil Wayne and Eminem’s “Drop The World” visual is after the jump!
Trae and Z Ro, both Houston’s representatives, make real music. Mixing harsh realities with deep melodies, the rappers, collectively known as ABN (Assholes By Nature), are worth your attention. When was the last time Hiptics.com co-signed some wackness? Exactly.
The video for Young Money’s single “Roger That” is finally here. The track is off the album We Are Young Money featuring Captain Weezy F. Baby, Tyga and Nicki Minaj. The week before his year long jail sentence, Wayne’s been busy recording videos and getting his grills fixed. Due to this hard work, we can expect more videos from Wayne even throughout his stay at Riker’s Island. Fans can follow him @liltunechi.
Hailin’ out of Chi-Town, Dave Coresh releases a fresh new video off his upcoming Call Me Dave EP. The dude has skills; the beat’s fresh, the visuals fresh, the rhymes fresh… You get the point, Dave Coresh is fresh. I’ll be honest, I haven’t heard much from this guy but I look forward to hearing some more. Check it out!
Curren$y & Stalley collab with Creative Control to release yet another dope music video. This joint’s filmed in Jamaica. On the hook Curren$y says “Ain’t nuthin’ changed but the address”, the visuals contrast Uptown and Downtown Kingston. This track is off Ski Beatz’ 24 Hour Karate School mixtape slated for release on March 30th.
Tony Yayo’s “Everywhere We Go” music video features cameos by DJ Whoo Kid and 50 Cent. This visual was filmed when 50 Cent and G-Unit were in Aspen for the X-Games. Oh, and Yayo’s pop culture reference(s) are on point: “Sour diesel got me higher than balloon boy.”
“Everywhere We Go” appears on Yayo’s digital-only release, Gunpowder Guru. You can listen to Gunpowder Guru below thanks to Amazon. Read the rest of this entry »
Nipsey Hussle’s “Return Of The Swag,” which is this week’s Song Of The Week, wouldn’t be possible without Mark Morrison’s 1996 hit of a very similar name. So break out your favorite turtleneck and enjoy Morrison’s “Return Of The Mack” music video!
Team Wiz Khalifa released a video for Deal or No Deal’sstand-out track, “This Plane.” The music video for “This Plane,” in addition to an exclusive clip of Wiz Khalifa performing the song, is below for you to watch and enjoy. Okaaay!
