How To Get Your Music Posted On Hiptics.com – It’s Easy

    March 8th, 2010

Hiptics.com is one of the few popular blogs that continually showcases undiscovered hip hop talent. Despite our effort to get all new music submissions sent to our DropBox (instead of our inbox), the fact is that we can’t keep up with all of the submissions. To fix the problem, we created a FORUM. If you want to submit music for us to hear, post it in the forum. The artists that have the biggest buzzes in the forum will get posted on the main site. So with that being said, sign up, and tell your friends.

We Switched Servers And Lost All Of Wednesday’s Posts!

    March 3rd, 2010

    Hiptics T-Shirt

BUY A LIMITED EDITION HIPTICS T-SHIRT

    Hipset,

We have officially moved all our content to a dedicated server. Why? Well, some of our loyal readers had complained about having to refresh their browser a few times before getting to the home page. When I inquired about why this was happening, I was told that the traffic was too much for our previous server to handle. Basically, Hiptics is blowing up! We’re paying big bucks to keep the site up now, so if you’ve got $15, consider buying one of our limited edition t-shirts.

    Thanks for your continued support!

    Chris Franco

p.s. We lost all the posts from today during our move, but I’ll do my best to get them back up!

Need A Hip Hop DJ? Introducing Hiptics.com’s Party Playlist

    February 17th, 2010

    DJ Hiptics

    Check it out: PARTY PLAYLIST

Recently I’ve noticed people at college parties using YouTube. With YouTube DJ’s, there’s always dead air, low quality sound, or some other inconvenience that gets in the way of experiencing the music. FratMusic solves that problem, but they do not offer Hiptics.com’s great taste in hip hop. Heck, if I could, I would fly out to our readers’ parties and deejay the party myself. But, since I can’t, I’ve found a solution. Next time your using a computer to add music to your ’social gathering,’ head over to Hiptics.com and click the “Party Playlist” tab on the above navigation bar. It’s that fresh funk.

    What Are Your Principles, Blogger?

    February 17th, 2010

    Cfro Hand 540

You find a blogger realer than Cfro, then where he at? Cause I read the blogs like you and I haven’t seen him yet!

    1. No Gossip – I’m a 22 year old man. I refuse to include “perpetuating b.s.” as part of my day-to-day grind. Sure, we all like a little gossip in our lives, but I’m committed to keeping it off Hiptics.com. Be the change you wish to see in the world blogosphere, right?

    2. Never Personal – Did Lil Wayne miss a court date because of a dentist appointment? I could care less. What I do care about is hip hop music and culture, not the personal lives of rappers. That’s their personal business. They give us enough to talk about with their music.

    3. Positive – I refuse to be a hater. If I can’t stand a particular MC, I won’t write anything negative about them. Instead, I won’t write anything about them. I want to showcase the best of what hip hop has to offer on Hiptics.com. I can’t make that happen by hating.

    What are your principles, blogger?

    ARTIST PROFILE – Drake

We will be introducing at least one new Artist Profile per day until we’ve covered every MC that gets spins at the Hiptics.com headquarters. What do we mean by Artist Profile? Well, we will specifically focus on your favorite rappers online presence. In a way, our Artist Profiles are like mini-guides to our favorite MC’s use of Internet technology that will facilitate meaningful fan-artist connections. We hope our Artist Profiles are informative and welcome all feedback. Your opinion matters to us!

Hiptics.com Is Back In Atlanta, GA Making Moves Like Shawty Lo

    January 7th, 2010

    Atlanta Skyline

What’s up Hipset? Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday. I spent my morning saying goodbye to close friends down in the 239 (AKA the birthplace of Hiptics.com) and spent the rest of the afternoon/night driving to Atlanta, GA. With that being said, did you know that Shawty Lo, Ludacris, The-Dream, and Gucci Mane (well, he’s in prison) shot a video for the 2009/2010 Atlanta anthem, entitled “Atlanta, GA.” According to MTV:

There were plenty of people yelling “Free Gucci,” plenty of people shouting out their city: Shawty Lo orchestrated a huge display of hometown pride on Tuesday afternoon in the ATL while filming his video for “Atlanta, GA,” with Ludacris and The-Dream. Gucci Mane is also featured on the track, but obviously couldn’t make the video because he’s currently in jail.

Still, Lo had no shortage of guest stars, with Cee-Lo and Big Gipp from the Goodie Mob, Soulja Boy Tell’ Em, Yung Joc, Lil Scrappy, Mike Bigga (a.k.a. Killer Mike), Baby D, DJ Montay, Zaytoven, Baltimore Raven Daniel Wilcox, DJ Greg Street and Waka Flocka Flame coming to the set. The video was shot at Bedford Pines housing project and at Club Crucial.

I called “Atlanta, GA” a future hit single on September 5th, 2009. Not everyone agreed, but I think the fact that Shawty Lo was able to get funding for a music video indicates that the powers that be in the music business recognize the potential for this song to take off. Or maybe they just read about it on Hiptics.com?

The best part about the Atlanta hip hop scene, from my perspective, is the unity. The cast of MC’s and producers that came out for Shawty Lo’s video is testament to that. And considering that the “beef” situations between Shawty Lo and T.I. (and Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy) are old news, it seems likely that the ATL hip hop scene will continue to prosper in 2010.
