As I walked out of f Merriweather Post Pavilion after hearing more than 10-straight hours of classic hip hop, I was pleasantly surprised to have very little ringing in my ears.
Apparently, when you hear that much bass — a few fans near he front row actually asked Q-Tip to turn the bass down, to which he mockingly replied “Is this the Maryland Philharmonic or Rock the Bells?” — ringing takes a while to set it in.
Now that it has, and I’ve had a little time to process Sunday’s events, here’s five thoughts. Read the full story
Cam’ron enlists Jim Jones and Snoop Dogg for his ode to Red’s “I Should Tell Ya Momma On You”. The video after the jump will introduce you to the original version. I’m not a big fan of what Cam’ron did with it, but Snoop Dogg saves the day on the third verse. Oh Sookie! I will say that it’s always good to hear some new songs that feature Cam and Jim Jones. Jim Jones’ adlibs are more in-your-face than usual, though. I wonder if Jones does his own adlibs when he’s teaching a high school music business class?
And now I tell em’ the truth and all

Snoop Dogg recently challenged Donnie Whalberg to donate $20,000 to charity if the Lakers defeat the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. Not sure if Whalberg accepted the challenge, but that’s a lot of money to put on a basketball series! At least it’s for a noble cause.
“What it do, Big Snoop Dogg, Lakers fan #1. Wahlberg what it do? Y’all want that bet? Let’s get it crackin’,” said Snoop. “20 Gs to your favorite charity, Lakers beat the Celtics, that’s what it do!”
Snoop Dogg kills it. T-Pain sings the hook and raps the third verse. We could do without Mack Maine’s verse, but hey, it is what it is. Follow me, follow me, follow me, follow me.
Snoop Dogg appeared on 106 & Park to promote More Malice. At around the 2:05 mark, Snoop speaks on how signing with Master P’s No Limit Records re-energized his career. General, I salute you.
Snoop Dogg is a legendary MC who is still capable of making relevant hip hop (see Malice N Wonderland). The Doggfather appears on CBS’ prank show, “I Get That A Lot,” which looks pretty funny. Props to ThisIs50 for bringing this video to our attention!
They made us start doing bomb checks over here last week. It’s a code orange right now so I’m trying to make sure we get it back to code yellow around here.
Snoop Dogg is the man. Ever use a car navigation system? Were you disappointed by the computer generated voice telling you where to turn? Well, now you can have Snoop Dogg navigate you on your personal road to success. The video says it all, and quite frankly, we think this is an awesome brand extension for the Doggfather.
